Artistry, Contrast and Emotion

I believe the mystery of life to be found in the contrasts of our existence . All ready to be discovered and revealed to us according to our willingness to shift our perspective! Sometimes we grow in joy, sometimes through pain – but it is in the middle of those contrasts or opposite poles (like old school film negatives) – that we develop our picture. All to reveal our true authentic self and ultimately – for us to know ourselves!

I love this quote by Sarah Ling:

“Have you ever taken a photo of the sunset only to look at it and realise it was so much more beautiful in real life? Remember that when you’re picking apart yourself.”

I hope you really hear these words in your heart! Stop picking yourself apart! You are more beautiful than you think you are!

Yours in capturing YOU,

Your Soulburst photographer,  Leonie J.

“The thing I love most about photography is that it forces you to constantly change your perspective.”

LEONIE JORDAAN, SOULBURST PHOTOGRAPHER

“The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him… a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create — so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating.”
