I like to Move It

I’m not the most avid sportsperson in the world – I will be the first to admit it. But I have a very active family through whom I have ample opportunity to experience the sweat machine types of this world. My interest in sport is more artistic and I absolutely love capturing good, strong sports images that show the commitment, dedication and character of the athlete.

There is something about the determination of an athlete that I really admire and respect. To push through the monotony and to have and maintain an exercise regime calls for not only a strong body, but an incredibly strong mind.

As much as I enjoy watching people sculpting their muscular futures, I personally prefer to deposit the bulk of my time in exercising my spiritual muscles through practices like meditation, chi-do and art.

Who knows, perhaps in time I will progress to moving meditation like Yoga or I’ll find my way back to bootcamp. Hugely pleasurable sport, with the downside of burpees, wall balls, assault bikes, deadlifts, kettlebell swings and pull-ups! None of which I am a particular fan of!

This image was taken at a Farmhouse Throwdown (Bootcamp Competition hosted by Farmhouse Fitness, Somerset West) in December 2022.

I love the simplicity of the photo and the seriousness on his face and the side profile.
