IN THE HARBOUR

Boats and ships surely make for beautiful photos during sunsets – especially in the picturesque town of Gordons Bay. The harbor wall is one of my favorite “dry” places to hang out at sunset and I don’t spend time there nearly as much as I would like to.

These images capture the beauty of the harbor for the esthetic value, more than practical use of it. As much as I would like to have boats in the harbor to give me pretty captures – the reality is that these vessels are made for travelling through the waters of the ocean! It’s made for adventure. It’s made to explore!

The function of the harbor is only to protect boats from storms, not be its permanent residence.
I know the parallel between humans and boats(ships) have been drawn to death, but every harbor is still is a great reminder to us to get out of the safe spaces of our lives! Get out of your comfort zone – brave the storms, take the risk! At the end of the day, when boats stay in the harbor, they only rust, decay and pollute the water around them.

The reality is – as much as boats and ships are protected in a harbor, it is not meant for that.
If you are not facing storms, if you are not clearing big waves and seeing spectacular views and unpredictable weather patterns in life – ARE YOU EVEN ALIVE?

The harbor (or our comfort zone) is all part of a big illusion that cheats us out of truly experiencing and living life – more so, it steals the fulfillment of our purpose in life from us!
By far the biggest reason why people get depressed is because they are not living life according to their potential and purpose. Deep inside, they know it. This is the main cause of their depressed state.

Get out there – live a little – who knows, you might become a master sailor, a captain or you might even enjoy it! You won’t know if you don’t try.

Yours in capturing YOU!
