Jingle all the Way

I recently found these empty gooseberry husks in my garden during a late afternoon walk. We celebrated Christmas just three days ago and in some way these empty shells reminded me of little bells. Little empty shells that’s served their purpose, signaling the completion of a much anticipated day in the general person’s calendar. Reality is: people celebrate this day in different ways and for different reasons.

In some ways I feel this day is “forced” upon everyone as a holiday, regardless of their belief system, religion, occupation, heritage. For some people this day is a symbol of togetherness, family, abundance, decadence, joy, peace, connection and for some, sadly, the day is a reminder of someone that is no longer alive, or separated from, conflict, failures, oppression, sadness, loneliness. This photo to me, can equally represent both angles.

Over the years I’ve learned to see opposite sides, different sides or contrasts in things around me. My favorite way to uncover these insights is through my lens. It helps me to observe, pause, think, process, to meditate. I then have to think about ways to bring these images to my fellow seers and seekers.

In this image, I love the empty husks, the drops, the moodiness of this image and I love what it represents.

I hope that this will make visitors to my page think or view things from a different angle – this I feel, is part of my service to humanity. If I can help someone think different about a matter, my purpose is served.

Yours in capturing YOU, Leonie
