Everyone who knows me, knows that I am absolutely besotted with photography! Photography gives so much! It gives me the opportunity to capture a glimpse of beauty and express my creativity on levels I could never have imagined. It’s such a forgiving art, there are so many ways to capture your unique angle and you don’t need to have realistic eyes and proportions mastered in your brush strokes.
It gives you opportunities to connect with other humans, to smile with them, to laugh with them and yes, sadly sometimes cry with them. With the click of a button, you can open many conversations and build a bridge between people that never would have existed otherwise.
You can be the lucky capturer of someone’s most precious memories of their loved one. Even if none of you realised it at the time.
You can build a child’s self esteem and give back memories which as adults were long forgotten and buried in their youth.
You can give back the dignity of the persecuted, shamed and abused of society.
You can mend and heal distorted self perceptions and you can make someone see themselves from a different angle.
I know photography has given me a new purpose, it has kept me sane, it has nurtured my soul and it has given me many many many friends, that I will not exchange for anything in the world!
I am grateful to the visionary engineering minds who gave us this technology to capture and reflect the beauty of the Creator and its creation!
